We’re really proud to have been awarded a Stationers’ Company Warrant for our social purpose communications for the second-year running.
It’s always lovely to be recognised, but this one feels particularly meaningful. Not just because it’s a respected award, but because it comes from an organisation with a long-standing connection to the industries Barley is part of today.
The Stationers’ Company is the City of London livery company for the communications and content industries. Its roots go back more than 600 years, and over that time it has continued to evolve alongside the sectors it represents, from print and publishing to media and digital communications. Today, it brings together senior people from across those industries to support their development, success and future direction.

Iain Bullock, currently managing director of Renz (UK), will succeed Bettine Pellant as CEO of Picon from October 2026. Iain was identified as a potential candidate two years ago so, when Bettine announced her decision to stand aside, it took little time for the Picon Council to agree to his appointment.

It has been a standout week at Leigh Stationers’ Academy, from a historic Kent Cup win to the arrival of a brand new baby grand piano. We have celebrated a major sporting achievement as our girls’ football team became the first Leigh Academies Trust school to win the Kent Cup, while also welcoming an exciting new addition to the Crown Building through the generous support of The Stationers’ Company. Alongside this, our Sixth Form students benefited from a powerful theatre visit to the Young Vic, and it was a pleasure to welcome so many families to our Year 9 Parents’ Evening, with more than 90% attendance reflecting the strength of our home-school partnership.
